This pocket-sized zine serves as a journal documenting Mothra, one of the most iconic kaiju, and her many looks throughout six decades. The chosen size reflects the delicate and precious nature of my affection for the character. The inclusion of a pop-up element adds playfulness and parodies taxidermy insect displays.
Through this project, I’ve had the opportunity to celebrate Mothra’s evolution and explore the unique textures and vivid colors that riso printing offers. These techniques bring her legendary forms to life in a way digital methods cannot replicate. This zine is a tribute to Mothra.
